Beam me up, Scotty!

I guess Star Wars must have been a pretty big influence on me, but the local library had a significant role too.

Once I had read just about all the available science fiction books that were available in Finnish, I started reading them in English.

My first favorites were the classics like Asimov, Clarke, Herbert, Heinlein and Niven.

I then moved on to read authors like Brin, Bear, Simak (gotta love pastoral SF).

More recently, I have enjoyed Card, Banks, Donaldson, Rucker, Sheffield and the Vinges.

For some reason, I seem to have an interest in shapeshifting and form change... I guess that's why I have read quite a bit of Jack Chalker and Piers Anthony books too.
